NC School of Science and Math Powwow 2012

Update: This powwow is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012.
Grand Entry at Noon, and runs until 5:00. In the past, any dancers in regalia registered and got a meal ticket which was good for the cafeteria meal that is served after the powwow. Anyone can go to the cafeteria, though, and enjoy the meal prepared especially for the powwow. They have a serving line with specialty items, salad bar, and ice cream. It is a minimal fee if you aren't a dancer.

Looking forward to seeing family and friends. Makes the winter doldrums easier to bear...and helps you realize that the powwow season isn't too far away.

This is held on the post of Ft. Story. There are many hotels and motels in Virginia Beach that are reasonably priced at this time of the year. And there are still many good restaurants open, too. This pow wow takes place at the restored village, and there are many craft vendors there. Come on down and enjoy the festivities....one of the last powwows of the year in this area.

    NCSSM Powwow

The powwow this past weekend at the School of Science and Math in Durham was just great! It was good to see so many friends and acquaintances. There were six drums that were kicking....and lots of dancers. Vendors were sparse, but, hopefully next year with more notification, there will be more. We had a blast. And my granddaughter, Maecyn, danced her heart out sporting her new regalia. Finished off the day with the complimentary meal for dancers in the cafeteria....hope this is the way the rest of the year is gonna go!!
