Thank you ! I found the Mcneal Browns in Ind and even have his discharge which is a BIG one framed. Also some medals. I could not connect them to anyone. Their daughter married Oliver Carey. The Careys and Barkers are mixed with them. All came from N.C.Some were Quakers way back.Lived around Eagletown. Had a son John Brown.John's wife was Penina. Not far from their graves was a Martin Brown.

Hmmm. Tom and I also have CAREYs.
Oliver M. Carey, b.abt.1862 Ind., was the son of Johnathan Carey, b.abt.1831 Ohio, his father b. Va and mother Eliza A __?__, b.abt. 1836 Ohio with her father b. Va and her mother b. Ky., per 1880 Hamilton Co., In census.
Which of McNeal Brown's daughter did Oliver Carey marry; Martha, Emma or America?
By saying you haven't found McNeal Brown except for his marriage, are you saying you need census data for him? Or did I misunderstand? I found him in 1860, 1870 and 1880 census records and will post them if you need them.
I'll check the Browns of 1850 Guilford Co NC to see if he was living with any of them since he doesn't appear as a head of household on any index for 1850.
I'm struggling to remember in what context Holloway/Hollowell is familiar to me. I know I've tried to track one, other than Brenda's.
Seems like that one came from Ohio, though. Anyway, I can't "pull" it out now.
Please let me know about the census data and any answers to the above questions.
Bill

Oliver Morton Carey Married America. I have found the Mcneal Brown in the census in Indiana but I only have where he and Guella(gilla) were married in Guilford Co.,N.C.I can not connect him or her to a family brfore.I am also trying to find Nancy Mace that married William Wicker .Also N.C.Married 1819,Guilford Co.I think they all must have left about the same time. They left before 1850 census is what someone wrote to me on the Wicker family. Thanks for your help. How are you related? I am trying o find the person that grandpa said was the Cherokee-Blackfoot or persons and also the other genealogy. I have a lot of it but one leads to another.Nannie Jones was a grandaughter of the Wickers. Husband was Daniel F. Jones. His father was Eliakin Jones.I found the Indiana's family.

Rosemary,
I'm looking and will check the new names later.
Sorted thru some of the Bolden/Bowling variations. Found Jacob M. and Susan Smith at 21 and 20 yrs old respectively, with "Wm. Milton", 1 month old (census dated 5 June) on the 1880 Tazewell Co., Va census in Jeffersonville Twp. (page 259B) Within ten houses either way of them, were three Bowlings, one Smith and one Blankenship (no Ferguson's).
Bowling: Powhattan, Charles and David (some of the "red" Bowling/Bolling people).
Smith: Jas. Q.
Blankenship: Rachel (Widow)(this line came from 1680s Henrico Co., to 1720s Chesterfield/Lunenburg/Brunswick Co's. - I'm related to the part of this line who went to NC in the 1760s and on to Indiana in the 1790s.)
Haven't found your Wm Bolden/Bowling/Bolling/Bolen, yet. Bill.

Rosemary,
Yes. I live in Indianapolis. Grew up in S.E. Indiana. Born Ky.
Lived in Indy, off and on, for 30 some odd years.

Thanks for the offer.
The presumed CARY/CAREY connection is in 1760 Mechlenburg Co Va.
Do you have any CAREYs who married TRAYLOR / TREILLEURs, (asserted to be from Monacantown in 1720s)?
Cary/Carey TRAYLOR, b.abt. 1760, m'd Elizabeth THOMPSON on Nov 7, 1786 in Mecklenburg Co, dau of Hugh.
Brother Reuben Traylor, b.abt.1770, m'd Susannah (unknown), b.abt..1765. Traylors moved to Spartenburg Dist, SC, in 1780s and into S.E. Ky around 1812.
These people are related to the Wilburn / Wilbourn 's and both are direct lines.

Thanks for looking.
My Wilburns and Traylors got together in 1830s Bath Co., Ky.
The Traylors have a Carey ancestor somewhere prior to 1760.
