Linda has suggested that I psot my request for information here.
I have been trying to find information on MARTHA A DAY born about 1831 maybe Louisiana. And her father Olywin Day, born about 1800, Virginia.
This is the only information I have been able to find on these two.
Marriages of Campbell, Boone and Kenton Counties, Kentucky, 1795-1850
MCPHERSON, Luke & Martha DAY, 23 May 1846, m by JGA, b James Baker, C by father Olywine Day, W by J.M. Lindsey, Kenton Co., KY
My father, John Cloud, (he says it used to be McCloud, a cousin says it was StCloud, they do both agree on the Native American information though), was always told he was blackfoot sioux. He is now 75 years old and I have been trying for years to make the connection for him. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Barbara

Barbara:
Welcome. The Day name is familiar to this board. Maybe Bill Childs can check out your specific people for you.

Hi, Barbara,
Martha (Day) McPherson is listed as born in Louisiana on three different census records and that is recorded by her children as their mother's place of birth, so it's probably true.
What were the names of John Cloud's parents?
How are the Browns connected?

Notes for James Olywine Day:
Hi,
I haven't had much luck either. On her death record it says (Martha Day) her mother was born in LA but no name, and her father was James (Olywin) Day born VA. That's All I am sure about. Another relative said that James Day and Ann Davis were her Parents. But when I checked it out they weren't married when Martha was born so if this is right He probably had a first wife that was a mother to Martha. They did say James was in war of 1812. So I need to get those papers and see what they say.
Children of James Day and Unknown Unknown3 are:
Caroline Day, born 1830; married Frank McPherson 1850; born 1828.
Martha A Day, born December 1831 in Louisiana; died April 13, 1903 in Elwood, Madison County, IN; married Luke W. McPherson May 23, 1846 in Kenton County, Ky.
Thanks fir all of your help guys:)

Barbara,
Do you know if your BROWNs were Quakers?
There are at least a dozen BROWN households in 1840 & 1850 Wayne Co., Ind., but I found no BROWN marriages before 1850 in Wayne Co., Ind and this area was heavily populated by Quakers who kept their own marriage records.
I have a John Brown whose line transferred in 1783 from Wrightsborough Monthly Meeting (NC?) to Deep River Monthly Meeting, NC and on to Milford Monthly Meeting, Wayne Co., Ind. in 1829, with James & Mary settling next door in Henry Co., Ind.
John, son of James (whose father was a James, son of a third James) & Mary Brown, received permission to marry in 1831, Cyrena (Sirena) COFFIN, dau of Zachariah & Phebe Coffin of Guilford Co., NC. John was later kicked out of the Quakers for "marrying out of unity" (married someone who was not a Quaker). Zachariah Coffin & family rec'd permission in 1839 to transfer to the Walnut Ridge Monthly Meeting in Rush Co., Ind., next door to Wayne Co.
On the 1850 Wayne Co., Ind Census, may be your Nancy Brown, remarried after John died (?) or this is a large coincidence:
Franklin Twp., p.261B, 10 October, at 162, 162 :
Arthur HEDGEPATH, 40, m, - , farmer, $0, NC
NANCY Hedgepath, 38, f, - , - , $1000, KY.****
John BROWN, 14, m, - , Ind.
Silas Brown, 9, m, - , Ind.
Hannah Brown, 7, f, - , Ind.
MARGARET Brown, 5, f, - , Ind.*** (Your Margaret Jane?)
John Hedpath, 16, m, - , farmer, $0, NC
Sally Hedpath, 14, f, - , NC.
Menerva Hedpath, 13, f, - , Ind.
William Hedpath, 8, m, - , Ind.
Josiah Hedpath, 4, m, - , Ind (he may be a Brown or Hedgepath).
The only Hedgepath I found in 1850 NC was in Robeson Co., NC:
Arthur Hedgepath, 39, m, - , farmer, $0, (born:) Robeson Co., NC.
There were Quaker Hedgepaths also.

Wow Bill
Thanks for all the information. I do not know if any where Quakers or not. I am going to see if I can find that 1850 census and have a look. It is the James Olywin Day that I am trying to find information on, but am having no luck.
I have another tidbit on the browns. It is believed that the following is a brother of Margaret Brown, from and earlier marriage of John Brown. The Surbers tie in with Barbara Ann Cloud and Margaret J. Cloud, daughters of James Washington Cloud and sister to William Marion.

I have a Rebecca Brown who was supposed to have been born near "Sayersville, Ohio" on Aug. 22, 1815. I think this is wrong, though. Doesn't seem to be such a place. She marries Joseph Rhoads who was born near Spencerville, IN on Jan 13, 1816. If this is of any use.
