My supposedly "Indian "connection comes from a John Smith who was in Orange County, VA and married a Lucy Sylvie on January 12, 1826. I do not know which one was the Indian descendant. Their daughter, Sarepta Ann Smith certainly looked like an Indian in the picture that was handed down in the family. Sarepta married Ira Williamson Petitt on December 19, 1867 in Barboursville, VA. Barboursville is in Orange County. Their daughter Lulie Ellis Petitt was my grandmother. Other children of John and Lucy Sylvie Smith were Mildred (never married), Arieanna who married a George Miller and Lucy who married a John Roach.
