Tiger Lily, My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know how difficult it is to be in this possision and I also know that God,our Creator, does answer those prayers in His own time and in His own way.
I have a beautiful granddaughter. Her name is Amanda. She was 7 years old when they told us that she had overian cancer. We thought why God? Why would you let a cancer grow inside such a beautiful tiny little body? Amanda was taken to Children's Hospital in Boston where they removed a very rare tumor the size of a grapefruit from her body. She lost the left overy and tube. The prayers went out from near and wide as people learned that she was so very sick. The tumor itself was so rare that she is the only case at Boston and Jude's Children's Hospital has had only 2 cases in all it's history....both little Black girls.Amanda is white but with my mixed bloodline.
It has been 11 years since those scary days and only a few weeks ago the doctors told her that they felt something the size of a walnut and believed the cancer could have returned. Amanda is in her first year of college. She recieved three scholarships and three awards on HS graduation and she has goals for her life...now this. Friday she went in for the results of her internal altrasound and again the prayers are flowing. Dear God, this is such a beautiful young lady. She has never given her parents one ounce of trouble, she doesn't drink, do drugs, and I have never heard a harsh word come from her lips. She has suffered through past surgeries, and sickness and despite everything she fights to live and make something of herself. You gave her talent to look at your beautiful nature and be able to mirrow it on canvas. She is only 18 and has her entire life in front of her. Please, let her live her dreams. amen.
Amanda come out of the doctor's office Friday with a smile and a bounce to her step. God had answered our prayers.
What the doctor felt was only scare tissue. God really does answer prayers.

I am so glad to hear that she is fine. She could still be a mother someday, couldn't she, since she only lost one ovary?

Linda,
Yes, she could still have a child. That is why they didn't do the chemo at 7yrs but when the doctor told us he felt the tumor was back we thought that decision might have come back to haunt us. If she had the chemo she might have been sterile.
I might add that even at 7 years the doctors had to tell her exacally what she faced. She just looked at the doctor with those big eyes and said, "that's okay doctor, I will order my babies from the Sear's Catalog".

Mecou, I just recieved the dissertation by Oliverio. I have to say though that it seems awfully complicated. First off I do not understand all these notations and accent marks. It seems that I would have to either be a linguist or have had some kind of education as to accenting letters and such. In either case I guess I am proverbially up a creek without a paddle. I have had no college to date and although I got A's in high school English we never really touched on this type of lingustic mutterings. So is it just me or have others had difficulty understanding this material? Can anyone help me to understand it? Bila huk ( or is it pilahuk)

Try this site. This is a linguist translating the accent marks into Appalachian Iroquois sounds. There are sound files so you can hear it. I'm not sure how consistent it would be to Tutelo. My impression is that these markings should be fairly uniform, but it will give you some idea. I'd studied this page before I got to Oliverio's book and the markings didn't put me off.
What we seriously need is to have the deep linguist-ese translated into normal language.

Tiger Lilli,
Email Linda and she can help you. An additional reply to your earlier post, you will not find a better group of people than those at Saponitown, in my humble opinion. Welcome!
