I do not recall a Sara Rice.
My great grand mothers name was Mary Rice(Coleman) through her mom Ellen Rice. However, She was Mary Coleman by taking on her dads last name . Her fathers name was John Coleman. Her mom was Ellen Rice. They were all born in Halifax County Virginia.
This county I believe used to be a part of Lunenberg County.
I just returned from Halifax County Virginia. I do not run into anyone named Rice there now. I do not know whatever happened to the Rice people in this area. There are still Colemans around. Also, alot of Pleasants, Collins, Palmers, Lacks, Fosters, Wilburns and Cousins in this area. Surname of Cousin I mean.
I will let you know if I find out anything more. Thanks for asking.

No Colemans found.
Halifax County was created 1752 from Lunenburg County.
Halifax Co. at that time contained the present-day counties of Pittsylvania, Henry and Patrick.
