Just wanted to update all of you, and thank you for your warm support. Linda: I understand now why you asked about reincarnation, and before you ask, the answer is yes, that is how I came to be in this "place." Just thought you would like an update of sorts: Firstly, I shot my bow and was having a LOT of trouble the way these new guys were showing me. Tried my old way, and now I am hitting the gold regular enough to be happy. Secondly, the very first place that I stopped to ask permission to hunt, the fellow almost fell over that someone was nice enough to ask. Of COURSE I could hunt all of his 92 acres, and if anybody bothers me, just tell him!!! Thirdly, I found out that the most important part of me is Blackfoot, and it has NOTHING to do with geneaology(though I would have liked it to be so). Fourthly, though you are all what I would consider family, I am not "qualified" to be here on this site claiming anything. So, this will most likely be my last post, but I must say, though my visit was short, it was one of the sweetest sidetrips I was priveleged to take this time around. I will still hope that treaties will be honored by Washington, that the Earth will stop being defiled, that human beings will undrstand we are only here a short while, and that the Crazy Horse Monument will be someplace I will get to visit sometime in this lifetime. Thank-you, all of you.....Rich A p.s. You will be in my thoughts always, though I would have liked to have found out who I was the last time around.

Maybe you'll find that out yet. You never know. And you never know, you might want to stop by here so more. We'll be looking for ya.

Rich:
Did you try posting your names to the genealogy section? You might be surprised. Few of my names appear anywhere else on this forum, but the movements that they followed, coupled with the family rumors, have led me to be convinced that they were "The Other Blackfoot." Following genealogy out a bit further, I do come across a few names that appear on this forum.
Good luck. My father always appreciated people who asked to hunt his farms too.

Truly didn't expect to be back here, at least not so soon, but that's nice! I just have run out of any names to look for clues. Maybe one of those Geneaology Clubs could help me. Thanks for thinking of me. Rich A

Bill, I am trying to find out if I ahd any ties to the Blackfoot Nation. The only names I have to go on are: Alexander Areeda(originally Arida), and Joseph Areeda. Connection would be in Detroit, Michigan.

Tautog,
There is practically nothing on any census record of either spelling variation.
There was a John Arida, 21, b.Minn., on the 1920 Wayne Co. (Pontiac - City), Mich census, but there's no more of them in Minn or Mich at earlier dates.

Joseph E. Areeda, b. 1 Oct 1927, d. 3 Jan 1986, in Detroit, Wayne Co., Mich., Social Security # 369-24-2977 appears on the Soc.Sec Death Index but he's not on the 1930 census anywhere. You might want to write the Soc. Sec. Admin in Wash, DC to get a copy of his SS application papers. That application would have his father's name and his mother's maiden name on them as well as where Joseph was born. The cost was $12.00, but you might want to check on that at their website. Check back with me when you get that info and I'll see what else I can find.
Sorry I couldn't help more.
Bill
