Forest Hazel sure sounded like he was taking personal slams against Rick Haithcock's book. I am not the only one who thinks so. Forest seems to jump the gun too often. Maybe he is insecure because he gathers so much of his research from people like Haithcock. Hmmm .

personal biz aside, i think it is important to look at a variety of resources. relying to heavily on one source often tends to dull objectivity. I do believe personal commentary does need to remain on a personal level. that is one thing about this site that has been so refreshing and allowed alot of open dialogue.
however, i also believe that it is important to understand material presented as being sometimes third and fourth person, and in need of verification. thats just good research. sometimes the material is scanty and requires a leap of faith, or some other means of documentation. whether it be haithcock, rountree, or hudson - it is good to look at a variety of locations and build research based on others work - giving credit where credit is due. sometimes there are challenges to what has been already published. questioning data is healthy, as are other interpretations (a second opinion).
it also okay to agree to disagree.

To All,
There is such a thing as constructive criticism. However, that is quite different than what was written by Hazel.
Since, I am not down there and don't know who these people are, I must ask a few questions:
1. Does Hazel have something against Mr. Haithcock or his research?
2. Has Hazel used some of Haithcock's research?
3. When will the day come when Indians stop using the tools of negativity learned from the invaders to discredit their Indian brothers?
So SAPONI NDN, I know where you are coming from.
