I seem to be surrounded, especially at home, by "people of color," most notably my husband, who are annoyed with American outrage at terrorism. Admittedly, people of color in this country have been living with terror for the past 400 years.
He asks, if he were here when the Indian wars were being lost and he pulled off some "terrorist" attack on the whites and averted the destruction of his Indian nation, wouldn't we all applaud that? He can't get into a defensive posture towards these recent attacks. I've talked to some other people who also seem to pretty much feel this way.
I watched a movie tonight, "Mixing Nia" about a young woman in NY trying to be a writer and "find her voice" which in this case revolved around being biracial. I felt very nostalgic watching it, being that I basically spent my twenties in the Windy City on the same quest. I felt homesick for that kind of artful city life.
After I watched that, I thought, I doubt if ANYBODY in NY, whatever their persuasion, feels homey towards Osama. There's just a threshold of threat after which it doesn't matter anymore whether your attacker has reasonable motivations or not. He's after you and your babies and HE HAS GOT TO GO.
So, it ain't no white thing, it's a city thing. Osama Yo Momma, you've gone too far and you have got to go.
That boy's getting on my nerves as a phoney, too. He's no Muslim fundamentalist, he's a Wannabe Muslim. He's a spoiled rich boy jet setter out on a huge ego trip showing the world what he can do. If he wanted to, he could come hang out in some trendy spot in NY and fit right in. Just look at him, the kind of **** charming way he has about him, like he thinks he is just so cool.

Linda, I can tell that your taken with Osama’s charm, Barry had better hang on to you!
America was founded by terrorists. Just mention to any NA “I m from the government, I m here to help you” right? That’s got to be the most contrary statement in our country. I mean “Our Country” not the “european terrorist’s country“. That’s right our country was taken under “duress”, I still consider it the Native American's country!
Some may call me a “crazy old Indian”. I am sorry that so many innocent people were killed! My ancestors and relatives that were murdered were innocent also. Don’t get me wrong. I DON’T FEEL ANY SATISFACTION ABOUT SEPT. 11! I m also not satisfied that the U.S. terrorists have never paid for their terrorism! To me they are still terrorists in a foreign country! Mine! I know that all that is in the past for those that didn’t loose their homeland, culture, religion, sovereignty, etc.. I m not a fanatic, or bitter, but I would like to see things righted. “It is a good day to die” for the Indian, the problem is, the U.S. has always obliged! According to prophesy, it will soon be a good day for the Indians to live.

Hahahaha. The only way I'd throw myself at Osama is if I were wired with high explosives, and I'm not that desparate yet.
What goes around does comes around, and the U.S is getting a taste of its own medicine, but it galls me that the ones delivering the dose are historically just as guilty of the same things. The Moslem world has done plenty of its own empire building.
The problem with Islam is that it's just as bad as Christianity when it comes to being used as an excuse to conquer the world. In my opinion, they're not mad because Americans are Imperialists. They're mad because Americans are more successful Imperialists.
On my dad's side, I'm descended from people who were colonized by Muslims, but refused to give up their culture and religion, and were kicked in the head for it for more than half a millenium. Seeing Moslems now being applauded for giving the U.S. gov't its comeupance gives me a headache.

Osama bin Laden, not feeling well and concerned about his mortality,
goes to consult a psychic about the date of his death. Closing her eyes
and silently reaching into the realm of the future she finds the answer.
"You will die on an American holiday."
"Which one?" Osama bin Laden asks nervously.
"It doesn't matter," replied the psychic. "Whenever you die, it will be
an American holiday!"

Osama yo Moma , sounds pretty refreshing for Canadians aswell. When you speak of Imperialisms it makes me laugh, atleast Americans had the nerve to remove them early,.. although I'm sure they just headed north and said...."hhmmmmm we'll just take the frozen part".I often wondered why your Us. cavalry acted like someone cut the whistle off their cowboy hats,!The one thing incommon with all of these people is that they have used religion to further thier own hatred, perhaps someone needs to tell them that having a middle man between them and the Creator is whats causing all of the confusion.!

Sorry to say it, but I think the dudes who ran the Imperialists out of America turned around and became Imperialists in their own right, with a vengeance. The student surpassed the teacher, I dare say.

I guess I am the cause of this thread. I make no apologies for my position on 911. Yea, 3000 people died, so what!!!! Today 50,000 people died as a result of our Industrial Age wealth creation system. Each day 50,000 people die because of this win/lose system. I don’t see many tears for the 50,000 each day. My family has been living in terror for 500 years. Now all of America knows what it is like to be a “nigger”.
I gave lots of seminar talks prior to 911 regarding the coming disaster. I welcomed 911 because it was something which was destine to happen and the sooner the better. We are in a transition where the sooner this happened the less people will die. We are leaving the Industrial Age which caused the death and destruction of our tribal and more natural ways of life and the deaths of millions of people. Now as we transition into the Information Age we are literally creating a new civilization. The death of one civilization and the birth of another is a painful process. Millions of people do NOT have to die as we make this transition but we are likely to see 100’s of millions dead before it is over.
What is occurring? For the last 500 years Black and Indian people and third world countries have been the losers in the win/lose wealth creation system of the Industrial Age. The Agricultural Age cultures of these people were steam rolled by the Industrial Age. Now as we transition into the Information Age we are witnessing a powershift. The losers are gaining the power to cause the winners to lose as we transition from dollar power being the primary power to knowledge power being the primary power. In a nutshell we are on the verge of shifting from a win/lose world to either a win/win or lose/lose world. One thing, however, is for sure we will definitely move from a win/lose world.

Barry,
I agree with you 100%! My oldest son was shot and killed in October 2000. No justice has been done, probably will not be. The best thing that could happen to the shooter is that he be in a government controlled enviroment. After living through this nightmare, I turned down the sound regarding the Sept 11th attack.
