A lady contacted me just before I went on my vacation and told me about a song that her grandmother had taught her. The family has lived in PA for a number of generations, but she was taught that her great great grandmother was a Kentucky Blackfoot.

This is the song her grandmother taught her. This is such a precious fragment to be kept alive for so long. It will be a great project trying to identify it. It does sound something like other Woodland songs I've heard. If anyone can help with this it would be great. I think if you click on this, it should eventually open in RealPlayer if you have that installed, or whatever player you have that will read a .wav file.

I should ask if it's okay to post some of this lady's family photos. One of the ladies mentioned reminds me strongly of a friend of mine who's Tuscarora.

Is everybody able to hear the .wav file, or do I need to figure out a better way to deliver it?

Hello All sorry I have missed this treasure, I would suggest that some one look into the Tutelo texts to find simalar sounding words like those used in the song there's probably a muscicologigist that would like to have alook at this , perhaps I can find one and get them interested, all the best . And a special thank you to the lady that shared this info. Tom.
