Linda do you know if there was a documented {offical } archaeology dig conducted at this site .
If there was do you know if the site is labeled HISTORIC or PREHISTORIC,{one of the colleges or the historical society would know or NAGPRA}I would like to know how the experts define the artifacts,IF they are Labeled INDIAN KNOLL type ,then they are talking about our prehistoric GRANDPARENTS,INDIAN KNOLL PEOPLE are SIOUAN,depending on which expert you listen to the INDIAN KNOLL PEOPLE date back to around 10,000 years ago in the Ohio river valley. IN prehistoric times we were the primary Linguistic family {siouan } in Kentucky.

also if the experts refer to this site as :RADIN or YADKIN or UWHARRIE type all three of these are LABELS for our Siouan Ancestors.
the reason I ask for this information it might be easier to prove this site is siouan ,where in my amateur opinion it will be difficult to prove it {NATION SPECIFIC } TUTELO.

Nobody lifted a finger. The people buying into the properties were very concerned and touched by what was found. I believe they likely have items safely squirrelled away, waiting for some interest at a future date. They were shocked and disappointed they couldn't get anyone to even come out and look at it.

The lady who contacted me asked if there might be some significance to red dirt, as a layer seemed to have been laid ceremonially across the grave. By coincidence, our boys are just now forming a drum called "Red Earth Drum" to signify the Piedmont Siouan. All the dirt's red out here. She also mentioned amulets with snake symbols. Our group down here loves the Cheraw rattlesnake motif and many are using it on their regalia. So that really piqued my interest.

One of the lots was bought and left undisturbed by the people who live next to it. It's immediately adjacent to the lot where the burials were found. It may help a lot to get our data together before we try to interest some academics. I don't know how much awareness there is in what this might represent.

when it comes to village sites or burial sites, I was under the impression that it was law that the proper people had to be notified,that some one had to do some level of investigation?

THE RED DIRT
there are some old aboriginal burials ,were the dead were covered in RED OCHER as well as the burial site,this was part of the Glacial kame culture,there are alot of these types of burials in northern ohio.

Are you familiar with the slang names of the various tribes in KY? I am interested in particular with the "Cordova Indians" that were located in Northern KY in Grant Co. The only thing I can find referencing the Cordova was a paper that a child had written for a school project that was telling of the local history of Cordova. He only briefly mentions the natives.

Sorry Crystal I never heard of any native tribe or band named cordova ,it seems to me there was a spanish explorer named cordova ?
I f you find something on these people I would like to hear about them.
