It was really something to see how people reacted when he sang. People just gathered around, drummers stood up to see him. One was videotaping him, some were throwing him dollar bills. He got people's attention and the mic wasn't even working.
Mostly, it's the way he makes people happy with his singing that's remarkable. He takes us out of ourselves. I haven't known anybody like him before. He loves to perform, but he's not a showboat. Maybe it's his age, but I think it's just the way he is. That ego element is just not there the way it is in most people who like the limelight.
