Greetings to all:
The history and the enthusiasm of the participants is reason enough to want to be a part of this forum. I would certainly love to provide information to others, however, at this point I only have questions.
This is a photo of my grandfather who was born in Warren, County, NC in 1890. <img border="0" src="http://www.saponitown.com/images/greenadcock.jpg" align="right" hspace="5" vspace="5" width="298" height="408">
On my father's side of the family are the following names and locations. They are:
LOCATION.... Warren County, NC
NAMES Adcock, Askew, Macon, Godson(Gibson?)
LOCATIONS.... North Hampton Co., NC
Greensville, & Southampton, VA
NAMES Garris, Turner
All I have to guide me is suspicion, Grandfather's photograph and the mystery of why his family insisted on claiming (on census, death certificates) that their father or mother was born in England. They were not. Does this sound familar to anyone?
