We had a great weekend. Our family went with Eastern Bull Drum. I really had no idea what this event was about, but couldn't have found a friendlier room full of people anywhere. We had a great time and made some good new friends and acquaintances.
Our friend, DW, a Blackfoot/Saponi, stopped by and met Itconani, who was also there. Gave them both copies of the Tutelo song and dance workshop tape. Itconani's friends are excited about it and we're talking up a get together to practice them. Anybody interested, please email me for info. It looks like the event will be in southside Virginia.

My son and his wife stopped by on Saturday to see the tape, Chris learned most of the dances and we had a great time, looking foward to some gatherings here in Ohio.
Also, were you referring to our DW?

Send me your address (if you can put it on a label, great) and five bucks, (or eight does) and I'll burn you a copy and throw in an audio tape of songs with transcribed words. I'll send you my address by e-mail.

Hmmmm. We should get our heads together and figure out something.
I was just thinking today I'd like to see a monthly "stomp." People are so spread out though.
Does anybody in Ohio know how to lead any of this? I'm trying to hook up with some northerners who might know and get them to come on down. If you hear of anyone let me.
We know from David's tape that all we need is one lead singer and two dancers to get a whole group of people up and moving.

Linda,
I will ask a few of our people here, I know that I am looking forward to heading down that way! My family and I went to New York and Canada last week and camped and attended the Iroqouis Veterans Pow-wow. There were 391 registered dancers in Grand Entry on Sunday. We were going on to the Six Nations however, we had some folks who had to get back to work. Lots of food, dancing, drumming, it was great. Please keep me informed as to when to plan to come down!
Donald and I miss heading SOUTH!

We have our Greentown Homecoming the 17th of August, just coming up. This is my husband's family's isolate community that's within the boundaries of the old Fort Christanna reservation. People out there are interested in learning about their heritage so we will be doing an event there. That's the homecoming weekend for the church everyone there belonged to, so lots of people from all over are in town for that. Good time for making connections.
But maybe you should just come down when you all will be the event. No chaotic events to distract everyone.

We are getting ready for reunion's and such here too! We can fit right into the scenario, no need to worry about us. We are known to hop on the road and travel. We prefer to just be included, we make ourselves at home, no fuss for us.
Greentown would be exciting for me, I think? A while back Barry said he would see if some of my people turned up in that area, guess I need to send more info regarding them.
Anyway, we still want to make a visit that direction.
take care

Well, you're more than welcome. I'd be so happy to see you.
I should forward the details. Could you email me? I'm about to fall asleep at the moment, and don't think I could find the info right now. Let's talk.

Linda,
ditto! I'm having a hard time keeping up with the forum. My job has me doing a lot of travelling right now I'm in Kentucky headed back to Ohio. My laptop really gets abused! I will look forward to hearing from you and also about the stomp dance, my son Chris has learned the songs and my grandchildren all know the songs and dances!
Thank you again for that. Look forward to hearing from you.
