The other day I was talking with one of my aunt's about the research I've been doing with our family history. I started telling her about Fort Christianna and how the Blackfoot could be tied to it. She told me that when she was a girl my grandpa told her that our family came from Fort Christianna and that we were called Blackfoot because of the burning method of farming. This makes me wonder, maybe you guys have found the link to all our Blackfoot ancestors.

I missed this post somehow. Glad I caught it at this late date.

Very interesting information. What family names did your family have? Did it seem like your family had always known this? (I mean, it isn't a possibility that your grandpa was a researcher ahead of his time?)

Where has your family been living?

There's only two names that I have that may be linked, but I'm not sure which one. It's either Asher or Quinn. I know that my grandpa always knew this, but unfortunately I didn't get to talk with him about it before he died. http://winwinworld.net/SaponiForum/UBB/frown.gif He originally lived in Maryland as a child and than when he got older moved to California where my family has been living since. He he many brothers and sisters. I'm not really sure how he knew the information. I wish I could talk with relatives over there, maybe one of them knows! I also know that he told some of my family that we had relatives in Virginia and North Carolina. Cousins maybe, but I'm not sure.
