I have 6 chiefs or sagamores names left to try to match to 6 sub-tribes.
menis
westherme
itapometinan
3 important names in the deed are
macketuhood
wenepawin
mohemous
The 6 sub-tribes are
norwottuck - hadley, ma.
nonotuck - northhampton, ma.
woronoc - westfield, ma.
most important to me are these 3 small villages
scitico (skittico-squitkko) enfield,ct.(land at the rivers branch)
nameroke - enfield,ct.
mayawaug - w. suffield,ct.
I thank any one for any info/help on this, wed sites, personal sites.
I have emailed (mytwobeadsworth) two years in a row but she has never emailed me back. She claims to be a decendent of the pocumtuc people and would have been very helpful. Any help on that site from this site would be very helpful.
