Someone might want to check out this online book: The Breviate
in the Boundary Dispute Between Pennsylvania and Maryland. It has information about the area where Blackfoot Town was. I am on vacation and don't have the time at the moment.

One of my white ancestors was caught up in the MA - PA Boundary Line Dispute. This is just from memory but it is true that many depositions were taken in regard to various disputes in that area. My ancestor was at the home of the Cresap Plantation when the PA authorities came and demanded they come out of the house. The did not and the results was that the house was set on fire and they escaped to be arrested and taken back to PA and put in jail to be tried. My ancestor, after giving a deposition was released but this continued on for years and he left the area and was hauled back to give more depositions for many years - so, yes, there are many records to be had on this.

I do not remember reading about any Native American involvement or of their testimony but there sure might be.

The Swearingen Family or part of it is Native American. I know this, for a fact, but have to go through my files to add details.

Some of us who are Swearingen descendents (me :):) would be interested in your details!
