I am a Maddox descendant my Maddoxs were from the upper Virginia lower Maryland area.

My Maddox line is also from upper Virginia and Maryland..
Here is the line that I have
Samual Maddox 1646 Wales m Ann Notley 1650
Notley Maddox b 1672 in Chaptico St. Marys MD m Margaret Goldsmith b 1675 Chaptico St. Marys

My last name is Maddox. The earliest I have found my line is Gordon F. Maddox, born abt. 1787 in Charles County, Maryland (the location came from his marriage record). He died in Kentucky, most likely in Oldham Co. between the 1860 and 1870 census records.
