Standup/Goin/Goings

I've started a genealogy message board for the Standup surname at rootsweb. I have included Goings (and all subsequent spellings) at this time because, while I made a request for Goings as well I have not heard anything yet.

The scant info I have availble at this time are census records from 1850, Blackwell District, Albemarle County, VA.

It's not much but it's a start.

Jack has visited a number of archives, traveled to areas where our people were known to have resided, and is the author of a book on the GOINS, COLLINS, RIDDLE, GIPSON,SHEPHARD, AND Melungeons who were first living in Virginia as "friendly Indians" and later found along the NC/VA border. Linda, I emailed Jack Goins right after you suggested him and have heard nothing--the say stotry as with Carrieswater. Has Jack been sick or recovering as well do you know?
