Excerpt:
…A member of a prominent family in the Winnebago Indian Tribe died this week in the Minneapolis bridge tragedy.
Julia Blackhawk, 32, the niece of former Winnebago tribal chairman John Blackhawk, died after she fell or was thrown an estimated 55 feet off the collapsing bridge to the ground.
Her body was returned Friday to the reservation, and her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Ho-Chunk Community Center on the Winnebago Indian Reservation in northeastern Nebraska…
"She wasn't born here, but this is home," he said. "This is her reservation. This is where her people are. This is her home.”
