Hello All,
At the website Ancestry.com, there is a section called Gene Pool. It is made up of families that were studied during the Eugenics Movement. Many names are listed several times, & not all information is correct. These files were going to be destroyed, but luckily someone stepped in & saved them. The sad part is in order to look at them we must subscribe to Ancestry.com, I fought with them over this, but they wouldn't listen. As I don't feel that I should have to pay to look at the long list of my family members, that are on this site. Nor do I feel that other people should have to pay. Why should we be charged a fee to view records of our ancestors that were studied, no one owns my family, but Ancestry.com believes they own the records of the families they list. Also, the MORMON CHURCH, years ago made copies of all family histories that were targets of Eugenics. I have contacted them, & they refuse to open there records, unless you go to Salt Lake city. The records are listed as restricted, they won't even send copies to there history centers throughout the USA. Their lawyer by accident copied his email to me. As he said that "We will prevail even if it comes to a court of law". This was only part of his email, the rest was no less insulting. If you can't find your family, give me their name & location, I'll look it up. For those of you that are members of Ancestry.com, go ahead & look through their Individual Gene Pool information.
I wish you all good luck!
Sincerely,
CoheeLady
