Hello all,
I was told as a child that we were Cherokee, all surnames below are from Virginia. I never doubted this, but wished I had asked questions. My maternal grandmother was a Cash, prior to marriage. This surname appears twice on Dr. W.A. Plecker's List. Once in Amherst & in Rockbridge co, Virginia.
If there is someone that is researching the same family, please post a reply.
My family surnames, just on the maternal side are: CASH, PATTERSON, WALKER, TURNER, ARTHUR, NORTH, GARRETT,AYERS, AGEE, BONDURANT, CHASTAIN, FORD, THOMAS & SKINNER. All family members were listed as white. My Cash ancestor's were of Westmoreland co., then they moved to Stafford co. town of Aquia, meaning land of many seagulls. They followed the river into the mountains, other counties are Rockbridge, Amherst, Buckingham & Nelson counties. Thanks.
Sincerely,
CoheeLady

Good Morning:
I have PATTERSON but I am at a dead end with that line. My mother's line is Perry/Patterson/Lyons/Allman. I have traced three of them back but the Patterson is my brickwall. I am told Abigail Patterson who married John Perry was the daughter of Samuel Patterson of Virginia. Can't find Abbie.
Somewhere in the formun is a picture posted of my grandmother, Mollie Perry, who was the granddaughter of Abigail Patterson.
