I finally got a breakthrough on part of my mother's ancestry. I have a Martha Thompson born 1832 in IN who married William T. Haskett born 1825 in NC.
Martha's parents were William Thompson (middle initial may be H.) born ca 1805 in KY (Logan Co.?) and Susannah Gough/Goff born 1808 in Butler Co., OH.
Susannah Gough's parents were Jesse Gough born ca 1766 in VA and Elizabeth Hensley born in Fauquier Co., VA. Jesse Gough's parents were Francis Gough/Goffe born 1740 in Stafford Co., VA and Verlinda Peck/Peak born 1742. Elizabeth Hensley's parents were Enoch Hensley and Elizabeth, maiden name unknown.
Some seemingly connected surnames are Snell, Richardson, Sharp, Wright, Aubrey, Baxter, Pope, Washington (John Washington married Ann Pope. They were the great grandparents of George Washington), Ellis, Angel or Elliott.

Does anyone have information about any of these families?

I'm not sure which direction your Hensley's went, but there are Hensleys in Baxter Co. Ark and have been for decades. Check with the Baxter County Historical and Genealogical Society on their webpage. I've learned that some of our families take an unpredictable course and to take nothing for granted. Good luck in your search.
