hi my name is LLoyd day. my family comes out of the otter river area in virginia. my great grandfather was a blackfoot indian.his name was nero hancock. he was hung or lynched in virginia in the 1800s. i am currently trying to find some info on him.i am close to the mormon temple who have the largest collection of geneology records in the country. if anyone should need some assistance in looking for someone,please let me know.i want to establish my roots which already are there but i am getting in touch with them.ok thank you,and good day.

T.M. Where is your paternal line from? Did you know that Day is a surname known among Saponi families? I don't know if Hancock might be a varient of Haithcock, which is one of the most common Saponi names. We passed over the Otter river on our way to the Monacan pow wow. Have you tried looking in the records of the criminal courts of the day to see if there was evidene of a trial?

I have Manerva DAY: This line is from Andrew Cottrill one of the first settlers in this area
ANDREW2 COTTRILL (UNKNOWN1) died Bef. 1781 in Harrison Co. WV. He married NANCY MOORE.
CALVIN JR.5 COTTRILL (CALVIN C.4, RICHARD3, ANDREW2, UNKNOWN1) was born 1835, and died November 09, 1921 in Doddridge Co. WV. He married MINERVA DAY. She was born 1840.
