Im helping a friend work up some more substantial geanology. Some of His family comes from Orange,Vance, and Nash County North Carolina. He and his family have always identified themselves as indian, but like familiar groups, tribal desination seems shifty. Turn of the century generation referred to themselves as either Sioun from North Virginia or north of virginia.
Of interest Are his family photos and a few similiar names. Primary interst at this time are the West and Adcock family. Adcocks appear in Both the Monacan and Ohio Saponi groups. And both groups are Sioun north of carolina in Virginia. So he is digging on the name James West from Henderson, Vance County and Nora Adcock From Orange County NC (husband and wife.
Any information or ideas would be great.
