Need Help

My Grandmother whom I never knew was from Ahoskie, NC. Her relatives last name were Richardson. The only family members of her that remember or ever saw were:

Dr. Pete Richardson - Dentist -Franklin,VA
Ned Richardson - Ahoskie and lived in NY
Arthur Richardson - Ahoskie and in NY.

My home town is Suffolk, VA. My grandmothers husband was Nelson Taylor who left home (Raleigh,NC) at the age of 14 years old. He married my grandmother her name unknown.
They had at least (7) children all the children were older than my mother, she was the 7th child.

The sisters that I do remember the names Mallie, Senora and Senora raised my mother when their mother passed away at the age of 2 or 3yrs old.

So what I am trying to find out I am of African-American decent. My mother never knew her mother so the history was lost. If anyone can help me I really would appreciate any tips etc.

Richardson is a very common name among many Haliwa-Saponi's from the Halifax County region. You may also want to look there...

Richardson is a very common name among the Haliwa Saponi, of course it's a common name in general. Also Ahoskie is near Indian Woods in Bertie county, lots of tri-racial people out there. Is that what you're asking? You're wondering if your grandmother could have had Indian blood?

Thanks to you both for sending me this information. And yes I am wondering if my grandmother was a Native.

The history was lost when my grandmother passed away. And my mother only knew the cousins I mentioned before. That means I can not pass this along to my children and grandchildren
