Occaneechi Annual Spring Pow Wow

Just thought I would mention this....Occaneechi Annual Spring Pow Wow is this weekend. June 9 & 10, 2006 in Hillsborough, NC. On the banks of the Eno River off Margaret Lane in Downtown Hillsborough. Friday hours are 5-9 p.m. and Saturday hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Admission: General - $5 and Seniors/Under 12 - $3. Is anybody going? Dreaminghawk and I have it on our agenda to go...really need a break and to hear the drum. See ya, Becky

We thoroughly enjoyed both days. Saturday was made very special by John brushing the drum to honor his father (generations past) and his children/grandchildren (generations to come). Not to mention Little Bear receiving his first eagle feathers from Rick Youngblood (Birdchopper). It was the last year that the pow wow will be held in downtown. Next year it will be held at the Tribal grounds, and John will be in Europe touring. And sharing dinner with our special friends was a blessing as well....Jade, we enjoyed seeing you again and having the chance to chat....ya got your tribal card? LOL....Becky
