hello,

I am hoping someone can help me, I raised as native from the cherokee tribe ( i know that is what everybody says!), I found out that my family is from warren county in NC. I am wondering if my family may actually come from the Haliwa- Saponi. I checked census records of my GGgrandfather and they have him listed as mulatto(of course the entire family was listed as mulatto)

If there is anyone that could help me, that would be great!

The surnames for my family are Somerville or Sommerville, Clark and Russell( The Russell family is mostly African American, I believe)

The names of Somerville, James and Rosa Clark the were listed on the 1870 census as mulatto. The dates of birth and death are not known....these are my GGgrandparents...nor is their place of birth known. My Grandmother told us her father owned a store in warren county his name was walter somerville and he died in 1939 and was married to Luna Terry. This all the information that I have.....
