Peace everyone,
I hope you can help me with this:

I am going to visit my great Aunt, who over 100 years old. What should I talk about?

I haven't seen her in a couple of years, but on my last trip she was quite lucid- talking, asking and answering questions from my dad, etc- but I had my whole family with me.

This will be a more quiet visit- I missed her birthday party.

What are your top three questions you would ask someone who has lived 100 years?

Well, after making sure that she is comfortable, I'd ask about family, favorite food, and her parents!!

I'd first give her a congratulatory ((((((Hug))))) and likely I'd ask her: 1. What she contributes her longevity to. (advice on living*wink*) 2. What her most memorable life experiences were....and then I'd ask her to tell me some "family stories" that were passed on to her...these are always gems in my opinion. Have a wonderful visit....you are blessed~~~~Laurie

Peace To All,

Thanks for your help! It was a great visit (even though I was a little too close to nap time). At first I don't think she recognized me- because all the female staff call her grandma- she's been grounding them- they say she is JUST STARTING to get less fiesty! LOL

We named people in a few pictures. I told stories, as I had learned them from them, and she made corrections.

My daughters sang-

My favorite part- just appreciation.

Every once in a while she would doze, or be looking down, then she would look at me- and I could see her remember me, wow- her face lit up and so did mine.

I've got to make a way to go that way more often.

Give Thanks,
Akhasa
