The phonetics don't jive but I don't know everything there is to know.
Phonetics of surnames? I'll keep it in mind.

The phrase "hotchie, potchie, Dominochee" seems pretty clearly a further corruption of "hocus pocus, dominocus," of which we mostly use only the first two words (originally, to avoid sacrilege). This is what a stage magician says before pulling the rabbit out of the hat, or whatever. And it is at best an irreverent reference -- to the Latin words spoken by the priest to signify the miracle of transsubstantiation, when the communion wafer becomes the flesh of Christ: "Hoc est corpus Domini" (this is the body of the Lord).
Indian, it's not. But I don't know about the rest of the rhyme. Could be to remember family names, as you suggest.

Thank you Bill and Pappy. Perhaps it was a little saying that one of my grandparents use to say as a child.
