Here's what I've got.
My ggrandmother was named Josephine "Josie" Jenkins. She was born in Tennessee around 1876. According to my grandmother, she was Blackfoot. She was short and had long black hair. She marrried my ggrandfather, (Henry Mat(t)hews), around 1892 and they lived in Cherokee County Ks, where their children, (my grandmother), were born.
Now, here's the problem. Since I don't have any other info on her, I can't find her. I tried looking for her sister, Stella Jenkins but can't tell if I've found the right one. I believe that the family spent some time in Ok but don't know when. I've only been able to find her on the 1900 census in Ks with my grandfather. Josie also married someone by the name of Conway and also by the name of Walker.
I have my grandmother's death certificate which list her as Josephine Walker. Of course, my grandmother couldn't remember when she was born so I can't find her either but, that's another problem. I'll save that for another post.
