Haliwa-Saponi Pow Wow

I was wondering if anyone from this website will attend the 41st Annual Haliwa-Saponi Pow Wow this weekend (April 14-16)?

I am going on Saturday. It will be held at the Haliwa Indian School near Hollister Essex Community in North Carolina. I am so excited!!!

Wish we could...I have to work Friday night and Saturday. Sunday we will be having the family over for dinner. May be we can catch it next year.

It was a nice pow wow, big crowd, nice breezy warm day, but everyone seemed rushed. I know we were only able to stay a few hours and then get back to Easter dinner preparations. To those of you I got to see, wish we'd had more time to chat. I hear it's still going on today, Sunday, but I'm doubtful there will be a big crowd on Easter.

May be we can make it next year...I told them at work yesterday that I would be working reserves starting May 31st...so I will have more time to pow wow...sounds like it was a great day.

I had such a great time at the Pow Wow on Saturday. I've never attended a Pow Wow with such an awesome Grand Entry before!!!!!!!! I think the MC said that there were about 1000 dancers in the circle!!!!!!!


My mother went with me and was able to meet Linda Carter, Felicia, Jade and other great people. Thanks all that made my mother feel welcome!!!!! It really meant a lot to me. I can't wait for the next Pow Wow this season. I will go to the Occoneechee Pow Wow this May and hope I meet more people and develop friendships that will last a lifetime!!!!
