Where do I start?

First, please let me know if I am in the wrong area to be asking such questions. I am not sure where to start.

I have been told my entire life that I am of Blackfoot Indian descent. I was told that this relation was on my maternal grandmothers side of the family. However, they were all from the Honesdale, PA area...as far as I know. Their last names were/are Arnold and Wood.

Where do I start to research this information? I would very much like to research my ancestry so that I may embrace my roots.

You will meet a gentleman on that forum named Bill who has a gift for finding the family info. Also a good starting point is reading the article on "the other blackfoot" linked to the homepage.
