I found an interesting site on Saponi Indians of Howell County, Missouri with history going back to 1833. I [am shocked and delighted because I] never heard of the Saponi Nations currently existing anywhere else other than the southeastern areas:

The only history bit I found was that they were refugees from the Virginia and N. Carolina Piedmont[anybody know the surnames and more detailed history?].
