Whats our plans for the summer

Hey brothers and sisters I was wondering, Auntie Linda maybe you can answer this, are we doing the campout this summer or ceremony I am interested in the dates. The hubby is takin a pilgrimidge to Mexico with our brotheres so im thinkin maybe ill shoot down there. Let me know, Love yall

Thanks Tom, I cant remember if it's a june event or a july event, I would like to plan around it if possible maybe Hijack Deb (fromontario) and bum it down there lol!

The event is usually in June. But, I know that this year's events have been discussed, just not decided on yet. Stay tuned for further information. I hope things can be decided soon since I have lots of things on tap for the summer as well. Take care, Becky

I was searching the Big Sandy area this morning and found this park. Is this any where close to where you are talking about being? It has cottages, lodge, and camping...would suit just about any tastes, I think. Would like to try to find a place so we can start getting our budget worked out and plans made. Let me know....Becky

Sorry to keep you waiting. The date is the 17th of June, somewhere we can camp along the Big Sandy.

Several parks have been suggested, I think we should go for the one with camping reservations available. We could all converge on one section near the water. I still have to find out what's happening with the cottage/lodge rentals, couldn't find anything available.

Hopefully we can get this settled in the next few days.

Not sure which place you were checking...but I called the 1-800-982-5122 for Breaks Interstate Park.
I checked with the reservations lady at the Lodge..they have plenty of rooms available for that weekend...I used the dates of June 15 - 18 or 19th.

Of course the cottages are rented Monday through Monday. I don't know about those that want to camp...but, Ken and I would prefer to stay at the lodge...old bones and all that. Let me know where we need to make our reservations if it's not gonna be there. I need to give plenty of notice here at the office since I am the only one in the office now. Take care, Becky

I feel horrible, I want to come down but my graduation is that weekend and all the weekends around it are scheduled for us to be at Pow Wows:( I'm not even a week in April and every Weekend from June 1st- till the end of July is packed. I wanted so badly to come down this year. sigh.... Oh well I have waited 6 years whats another year... sigh I am sooooooooooooo bumbed out. Excited to Graduate sad im missing you guys.

I hope to be able tocome down to VA this summer anyways, but can't make it that weekend.

Okay, folks. Sorry to be so long getting this worked out. We are planning on the 16th and 17th of June, near the Big Sandy on the KY, VA border. We'll be staying at Jenny Wiley State Park.

There is camping by reservation, click on the link above to make a camping reservation. There's also a nice lodge with full service dining for $84.95 a night. Call this number for Lodge reservations:

1-800-325-0142

There is pool swimming for those at the lodge, and a lake swimming area is near the campgrounds.

The sooner we all make our reservations, the more sure we'll be that everyone can get a reservation. I've reserved camping spot A10 in camping loop A1-31. That's right across the road from the swimming area.

Well, the best thing to get a room at the lodge is to call the number, because if you go online to make reservations, it shows there are no rooms available for those days. The lady there was able to reserve us a room for Friday and Saturday only since they are booked for Thursday. They do also accept AAA discounts. In order to reserve a room, you do need to pay a deposit. And there is a full refund if you cancel, but, you must do it 10 days before the date. So hopefully we can make the trip...if not, we can give our room to someone else....Becky

This is Good News If we can have this here in the future it will be alot easier for me to get down there it's a little closer to drive I hope everyone has a beautiful time and I would love to post pics of my summer! I dont know how we would do this but It would be fun!
