View Full Version : Got My Dreams Back

As many of you know, I've suffered with fibromyalgia for many a year, which made a permanent insomniac of me. I took a sedative for years to let me sleep, but I slept too heavily with it. I hadn't remembered a dream in years. I missed this because my dreams were always so entertaining, and also because the lack of dreaming seemed to also be associated with other things that went lacking.

I switched to Lunesta this past month, and after a little experimentation with dosage, I'm getting a great night's sleep WITH DREAMS. My memory in general, especially short term, jumped back as well. Apparently, it's while we dream that we file away the day's memories.

I'm also able to think clearly about the future. We speak figuratively about our future plans as our dreams, but I suspect it's more than figurative. If we're not literally dreaming, we can't figuratively dream either. So, I got my dreams back, in more ways than one.

I've got my dreams back. This is a big deal. I want to kick up my heels and celebrate.

Well, well! I just mentioned fibromyalgia in another post....how I ended up at this site. One of my docs think I may have this too. Another of my docs say I don't, that it's my nervous system that's affected. I'm supposed to see a neurologist soon.

I've also been on a sleep aid for a while, and I still dream. I used to be an insomniac. I sleep for like 10-12 hrs. every night without waking....which I think is too much. Sometimes I awake and can't move and have terrible pain in my body.

But this is not about me, but you....CONGRATULATIONS!! I know how it is to get VICTORY and to feel great after so long feeling awful. Go ahead and kick up your heels, because you deserve it....and continue to DREAM!!!!

Linda, that is great news!! It must be wonderful to get good, restorative sleep instead of waking up feeling like you've just come out of your first day of triathalon training. I am glad that research has shown that this is a very real, physiologic condition--not a psychological one!
I have FM, too but I also have psoriatic arthritis. Can understand where you are coming from--FM can make life utterly misereable.
I'd love for that beautiful luna moth to come fluttering into my window, too! Such good fortune! Glad it's a nightly visitor to you and your guide back to the world of dreams.

Good night!

PS--The Snoopy dance is that little jig that Snoopy does when he's utterly thrilled about something--from the Peanuts characters by Charles Schultz. Go head--dance away!!!
