I'm kind of new to this, so please bear with me.....

I've noticed that there have been many references to the three colors of black, white and red. Could someone tell me what their significance is? At first I thought it had something to do with the 3 races, but I could be wrong.

For some reason, last summer I just up and painted my entire bedroom using all three of these colors. I designed the layout of the patterns for each one of my walls, drew them in by hand with pencil, then used a permanent marker to outline before I painted them. These colors are the theme for my bedroom.

I would like to try my hand at making myself a bracelet with those colors. But before I do, I'd like the colors to be explained to me by someone please. Thanx.

Hey Roni , well this color arrangemant is every where on Turtle Island,( NA.)
It has the the ability to hold the meanings of almost everyone that uses them, here it's race mostly, but for traditional crafts people, artists etc, including traditionalists in ceremony, the color black is "night", the "red" this day and the "white" is life, purity, creation, something that may be alive. etc, it also may change to yellow in the case of baskets makers etc.
Basically if I can use that term it is for me atleast, "calling in the day, calling in the night and illustrating something that is sacred or very close to it. see the basket that I have woven on the arrowtab bag thread.. I think

Roni,

Yes. You are right. These colors signify Black, Red, and White as our "main Ingredients to our mixed blood." I would like to see your braclet when it is finished. If you enjoy making it, perhaps I'll have ya' make me one. :) Love & Light, Lynella.

You guys are really kind......and I might add pretty cool! Tom I saw that basket when I was reading through some of those craft threads......you are so talented. Lynella thanks for the confidence booster. Even though I consider myself a little bit of a "crafty" person (crochet), this will be my first bracelet. But I'll keep you in mind if all goes well. Thanx guys.

Roni..... check out this thread for some interesting comments on colors. About half way through the first page you can see what the colors red, white and black mean to me.
