To All:
I'm pleased to say that the state of Oregon has followed Virginia's lead, in regards to an apology for the forced sterilizations of institutionalized patients during the days of Eugenics. Governor John Kitzhaber of Oregon, also has signed a proclamation making Dec. 10, Human Rights Day. This day is in honor of those that suffered at the hands of the Eugenics' Movement of the past in Oregon. More than 2,600 Oregonians were sterilized, from 1900-1925.
Sincerely,
Coheelady

To All,
Regarding my above post, I hope that Virgina & Oregon will not be the only states to apologize for forced sterilizations that took place during the Eugenics' Movement. The more people that are involved in seeing that their state passes such a proclamation, the quicker the process will go! It won't happen unless people stand up & let their voices be heard.
Sincerely,
