Hello Everyone, well I am back for a short visit.
The book that I have mentioned in the past several time on river cane baskets with be out (?) this fall.
"Made by Tribal Hands" should be available from Northwestern University, Natchitoches Louisiana this fall.
It has been more that 3 years since I was asked to write for this publication and I hope that it will be met with some interest.
There's much more to be done on this topic, please look for it this fall, a small limited publishing! so when it's available I'll post again.

hello well the long wait is finally over, the book that I wrote a chapter for is now home and ready to be sold, the address is as follows! Unfortunately at the time I wrote the chapter very little was known of eastern siouan weaving etc, there's more that has since come to light that was not included in this book, however almost all of the other tribal groups that make or made river cane baskets are.
the other authors have done great work and is really worth the read, growing cane, historic baskets and outside influences are all included. I hope that some of you will eventually see the book in your local book stores.!
