I was recently forwarded an essay aboiut the Cofitachiqui Indians who once lived in South Carolina. It is @ 38 pages and the author believes these Indians were the Catawba, and their Piedmont Siouan allies. It includes some early Spanish writings about their village, spirituality, et cetera.
Perhaps some of yall have seen it, I don't know. It is entitled "Cofitachiqui" by Gene Waddell (rev. Dec 8, 2000). It says most of the article was published in Carologue, vol. 16, no. 3, Autumn 2000, p. 8-15. Probably half the pages are notes and a bibliography, which has several excellent sources that I' like to get my hands on.
If someone wants a copy please email me and I'll send it as an attachment. Write me at vhawkins@pacer.com and I'll send you a copy.
