First of all, in my last post on Tapp, I listed a rootsweb world connect site. Does everyone here know that you can go to the index at the top of page and get the total list of names in the database? Just mentioning this in case someone might not realize that.....
Anyways, in searching the past few days more deeply into this Allen line..Robt. Allen II is brother to my Joseph..son Young Allen married Nancy Coleman..Son Drury married Lurana Hargrave (Lourana)..Their one son married Nancy Melton..both born in Rutherford co NC....Now I find that another son of Drury is James who marriefd Phoebe Johnston..Died in Hanging Dog, Cherokee co NC in 1874. Another son of Drury, DAvid married Mary Johnston. Mary and Phoebe are sisters..father is Samuel Johnston born in Buncombe co NC Circa 1771. James Allen and Phoebe.....cont'd

Daughter Mary Allen married Reason ROBERTS..Parents Israel and Jane ___.
Israel born circa 1794 Buncombe co NC. Appointed deacon of Hanging Dog Baptist Church June 6 1845. Jane died in 1870 in the household of daughter Sarah Roberts BRYSON.
Reason Roberts and Mary Allen Buried in Hanging Dog Baptist church cemetery.
Brother Joel Roberts married Rebecca Allen. James and Phoebe had a daughter Rebecca..Maybe the same? Joel died and Rebecca died near Tellico, Monroe co Tn..Buried in the Rafter Cemetery. Another brother married Sarah Allen also both buried in Rafter cemetery. Rutherford co was a parent co to Buncombe formed in 1791..Cherokee was formed from Macon 1839, Macon from Haywood 1828 and Haywood from Buncombe 1808..so I wonder If anyone every really moved..Just the counties....

Also,
On the 1835 Indian census is James, John, Sally, Robert T and Rose Hawkins. By 1840
Nancy and Rose..the others are gone..now
I don't know where I read that Nancy and Andrew were divorced and Andrew Hawkins went west..On Buncombe co NC 1792 court records, a John wood and James wood are mentioned, but are not on the 1800 census for there. Makes me wonder....
Vance, didn't you say your Hawkins left just prior to the removal West?
Meant to mention that the Roberts/Allens married into the Dockery's too.
