I picked up a flyer for the Smithsonian's PowWow last week. It is a flyer listing the Dance and Drum categories and prize money details (how much for 1st prize, 2nd prize, etc. in each category). No doubt you can get this information at the website www.AmericanIndian.si.edu. I'm going up at the beginning of May to do research at the DAR library - my favorite genealogy research spot, so I don't know if I can get back up there in August. I grew up in NO VA and I love spending time up that way.

I finally got to go to the National Museum of the American Indian last month (they are no longer requiring passes for specific times of day since the crowds have died down a bit - it was still crowded). And we managed to spend $14 on two bottles of orange juice, potato chips and a small cup of fresh fruit and didn't get to sit at a window seat in the cafe. The museum was very interesting. We checked in the resource center and they didn't have any Saponi items in their catalog or on display.
