Yes, I was wondering if any of you know any of the blackfoot language or could refer me to someone that does.
Thanks so much,
Bonnie

Hey Bonnie,
Use the 'search' button and type in "language' in the search field.
On the 'search results' field, click on the 2nd post down the list, "Tutelo-Saponi Language Website", thanks to Roca.
The link didn't work for me but it might if you type it into your search-engin or possibly by "googling" it. Read down thru those results for other ideas.

We have a section here on the forum, "Tutelo Immersion" it's on the forum's first page on the bottom. Set it to show all threads from the beginning and you'll see some posts to browse.

This one will give some basic info on how the language was discovered by a linguist and recorded to some degree. This is also when the white world figured out that there were Siouan people here in the east.

Horatio Hale's book is in print. Just googling his name and "Tutelo Dictionary" may locate the link where it can be purchased. If not, let me know and I'll see if I can find it.

Hi, Bonnie,

Amazon has Hale's book available. It is 36.00 and there are a few used ones for slightly less too. It says though, that there is only one left in stock but that more are on order. Search for it at www.amazon.com.

Bonnie:

Try this web site. It has a couple of sources for the language: http://www.evolpub.com/ALR/ALRbooks.html
