Hi there:
Just want to say hi and thanks for having this forum (and having me here)
I posted awhile back but had to disappear due to work. (lived adn worked there--it is an education centre--not much time for online)
To re introduce myself, Im Deb from ONtario and my mom is from Meck. co I hope to do more research soon.
I went to Fort Christianna in Dec. (thank you Linda!!!!)
I wondered if people woudl be interested in meeting at the fort this summer. Research, gen. etc. could be shared. Also just to meet irl vs. online. (online is good but irl is nice too!)
I am friends with the Wendat who do something similar. It is at the traditional capital and is from an earlier time frame--1600s.
It is not a powwow but a gathering.
Just thought I would put the idea out there.
People from places such as 6 Nations who identify Tutelo/Saponi could be notified as well.
I have more time than I thought this summer and would come down anyways to visit family. So, I would like to put the idea out for the "big family" to see what ya'll think.
;)
Thanks,
Deb, from Ontario
PS THIs forum is GREAT!
