Hey lost! I'm not up on it myself, but Tom does do it. You could probably compare notes with him. :) Love & Light, Lynella.
Hey Lost, it depends on the type of basket weaving you're interested in. I don't use "kits", I gather and process all my own materials, if you don't get the materials your self its not real.
Let me know what it is that you are interested in.

Tom,
How wonderful that you gather and create! I would very much like to see some of your work!

Hello Two Crows, if you look at Who's Who amongst the eastern Blackfoot on this forum you'll see some info on cattail baskets etc, I only weave from what I prepare myself, cattails, river cane, palmetto stems, willow shoots, wood splints, tree rootsa etc. Some time I'll post some images that I have of my baskets.
Thank you for the interest.

Tom,
I'm looking very foreward to seeing those. I found a photo of an old basket on the site for NC Historical association, I believe it was. I saved off the photo. It has an interesting rim. It's like if you take off your top hat and sit it upside down on the table. The rim of the basket sort of flares out like that. They didn't have info on what tribe the basket was from though. I wish they did. Love & Light, Lynella.
