Deb told me yesterday that her grandmother's notes described my g-g-g-g-g-grandmother (here you go, Lynella and I did not forget Elizabeth Sinkey this time), Mary McCarty or McCartney Sinkey, (I have seen her name both ways.),William Sinkey's wife, was a small woman who could balance a jar on her head while carrying one in each hand.
(To date her, her husband was a Ranger in the Rev. War in PA and moved to IA in the mid-1840's or 50's to live with a child who was already here.)

Probably just a big, thick head. Runs in the family. My son was hit squarely on the top of his head by a baseball in 7th grade. Everyone thought he'd have a concussion. He just rubbed it a bit and kept playing. His father, the coach, was not even worried. He knew Mark had inherited his head from his mother's side of the family.

I was raised alternately by my two GrandMothers who were raised by their GrandMothers so I'm not a very "cool" person. One GrandMother (Wooden/McCartney ->Morgan, Bain, Law, Lewis, Foster, Collins) tried to cure my slouching by making me balance a Kerr jar on my head while I marched back and forth in the "add-on" kitchen - it doesn't work unless yah square back yur shoulders and hold yur head upright! Good thing those Kerr jars were so thick!

I got the visual on that :D so I'm getting a chuckle here. My mom used to smack me in the middle of the back and tell to to sit up strait. Did I spell strait wrong? I did didn't I, never was very good at that. Love & Light, Lynella.
