Mecou my family,
My it is great to be back. I'm up and running and ready to go. I've been trying to go through and catch up on everyone and the postings. Too much for just a couple of days.

For those that don't know me, I'm Crystal Rose and a descendant of the Portuguese Settlement located in Northampton County, NC, just south of the old Fort Christanna. I am researching the migration patterns of the Saponi as well as the various family names. Right now, my main concentration is on the Turners from Northampton County, NC, Southampton County, VA and Brunswick County, VA.

I look forward to speaking and working with each and everyone of you and I trust that we all have the same burning fire in our hearts as our ancestors had.

All my love and lets get busy http://winwinworld.net/SaponiForum/UBB/smile.gif

Great to see you 'round here again. It hasn't been the same without you. There's a Greentown lady on here lately who's mentioned Turners, I believe. I guess you'll find those posts soon enough.

Cohee Lady,
I am very interested in working with you on various reasons, mainly being the Turners but also the Ayres. Did your Ayres marry into the Barefoot family? Where are your Ayres located. Very interested.

Thanks for the welcome guys..Brenda, I have missed you so. How are you doing?

Linda, give all the kids a kiss and hug for me and tell them I love them.

Talk soon

Crystal,

I am holding my own...thanks for asking. Sugar and BP are under control and well...there is nothing to do about the kidney's but wait and see. My function has been holding at 26 % for over a year so I guess you can say I am hanging in.

No more grandbabies...guess they are all finally figured out what was causing it and stopped. I will end up with the 18 I have.

Still trying to find the parents of my Meredith"Meridia" Collins.

Still trying to find which tribe my James Spencer came from.

Still trying to locate where the Native American blood of my grandma Mollie Perry came from. Surnames there are
PERRY LYONS FISHER ALLMAN PATTERSON GOFF MACE WEATHERHOLT STANSBERRY Have a feeling it could come from the Patterson line as I can't get anywhere with it.

Take care and sure glad to have you back.
Brenda

Hi Coheelady,

I see one of your surnames is Chastain.Do you have any Chastains who married Carter's? My Joseph Carter named one of his daughters Chastin( spelling) A Carter.Joseph was from Amherst Co. Va.I know there were Carter's from Buckingham Co. who married Chastains. Most of these Carter's moved to Ky and other areas. There is a Joseph Carter in Bedford Co.I don't know if is one of the ones that stayed in Va.

My Joseph married Belsora Lavender in 1833 in Amherst.I have posted already on the Genealogy part of this site.

Hey, I'm Lynella, a bit of a new-bie around here. The migration patterns sounds like a good topic. I've been working on a book titled, "Moccasin Tracks: Native American Trails in The Colorado Rockies" Though I've had it on the back shelf for a while. I've gotten in to this geneology stuff on my mom's side of the family. Bill is such a great help, he's awsome.

Anyway, Linda was telling me to ask you about the echoes you heard while she was singing. When you get a chance, I would love to hear all about it. Thank you and I look foreward to getting to know about you. Lynella.

I have Stansberry's on my fathers side who have Sioux Lakota in their family. A William Stansberry lived in Iowa during the 1800's - several Stansberry's lived in Appanoose Co in Iowa.
